So we all love Miss Rhianna’s bold daring red hair but my question is how long should she keep it this color. If I am recalling correctly this is the longest we have seen her keep a color in the last year. I feel like every time I have had enough of the RED she changes up the overall style and I am liking it all over again.
Feather Locks
10 JunI am sure that by now you have seen someone walking around with feathers in their hair … yes, feathers in their hair and while you may have had to do a double take I assure you that your eyes were not playing tricks on you. Feather Locks are all the rage in hair embellishments right now! Everyone is rocking feathers from some of your favorite celebrities to fashion forward 4 year olds. Want to know more about Feather Locks and where to get them? Well not only can you get them from me at the salon that I am working at ( Sweet & Sassy , in Lincoln Park) and if you are booking a private appointment we can do feathers at that time as well!
And if you were wondering about how you style your hair while you have feathers in the cool thing about these feathers is that you can still do your regular hair styling routine while you are wearing them, and you can choose to make them as noticeable or as subtle as you want… I think these girls below are wearing them nicely.
Summer is here… hair not to wear
31 MaySummer is here and that means that there will be plenty of new styles gracing our streets , beaches, festivals and amusement parks… what is one of the styles that you are least looking forward to seeing as we roll into summer? Natural or synthetic hair extensions
9 MarNatural or synthetic hair extensions
When you look into getting hair extensions, one of the most important things that needs to be decided is whether or not you are going to use natural or synthetic hair extensions. Natural hair extensions are made from real human hair while synthetic hair extensions are made from materials such as Kanekalon or Toyokalon. As a rule, synthetic hair is much less expensive than natural human hair and is not constrained to the natural rules governing human hair. Synthetic hair extensions can be extremely outlandish or completely normal. Natural human hair is the other alternative and can come in a wide range of qualities and styles. There are pros and cons for both choices. There are a number of benefits that synthetic hair extensions have going for them. First, they are not bound by human genetics so the extensions can be any color imaginable. By this same token, they can also be any style or texture. There is also the fact that synthetic extensions are usually significantly less expensive than their human hair counterparts are. Of course, the downside is that synthetic extensions do not feel exactly like natural hair and do not behave in the exact same fashion.
The pros and cons for natural human hair quite different from those of synthetic. With natural hair, there is a great range in quality of hair from relatively cheap “dropped” hair all the way to incredibly expensive Remy arrangements. Human hair extensions will feel completely natural because they are real hair. Unfortunately, the range of colors and textures is not as extensive with natural hair as opposed to synthetic because you are limited, for the most part, to what a human could produce. Virgin hair is usually the highest quality and is not dyed in any way. Human hair also only comes in a handful of different textures that correspond with the different types of hair. Usually, these are labeled by ethnic region.
The choice of whether to use synthetic fibers or natural hair extensions really comes down to a number of factors that vary from individual to individual. The purpose of the extensions, the desired goal, the amount of money that can be spent, and how much care a person wants to invest in their extensions all need to be weighed in order to determine which type of material is best for their hair extensions.
Hair Extensions 101
9 MarHair extensions FAQ
Over the past few years, hair extensions have become increasingly more popular. In fact, in the past two decades the use of hair extensions has grown so significantly that you probably see someone on the street every day who has hair extensions. This prevalence of hair extensions is due to a number of reasons including the advancement in hair extensions themselves and their use by famous individual. You may be considering getting hair extensions but have some reservations. Here are a few common questions and misconceptions about hair extensions.
Can wearing hair extensions damage my hair? When hair extensions are properly worn, they will not cause any damage to your hair or scalp. It is imperative, though, that you know how to attach your hair extensions correctly. For example, if you are using clip on hair extensions they should be clipped in an evenly spaced arrangement so that you get consistent coverage and they should be placed below the ear line so they are not visible.
Can hair extensions be cut? Absolutely! Hair extensions can be cut and styled in almost any way that you want. With that said, cutting hair extensions is no easier than cutting normal hair and it is advised that you have a professional do it unless you are very confident in your own abilities. In fact, many consider it much more difficult to cut hair extensions because there are subtle differences in how to approach cutting them.
What types of hair extensions are there? There are a number of common types of hair extensions including types that are clipped, glued, or otherwise bonded on. The two most common types of hair extensions of those that are clipped on and those that are glued on.
Are there any dangers to wearing hair extensions? Properly worn and applied, hair extensions provide no significant dangers to the wearer. It is advised however to follow any instructions on the packaging or given to you by your hairdresser.
Hair extensions can be a fun, easy, and beautiful way to transform your look or just help to smooth over the awkward phase when you are growing out your hair. With proper maintenance and care for your hair extensions, they can last and maintain their intended look for an extended period of time before they need to be replaced. Whether you are looking to make a drastic change or just have a little fun, hair extensions can be a great way to spice up your hair.

RHianna joins the 1/2 shaved head crew
While I am totally opposed to the lack of individualism that is taking place in the celebrity hair arena I will say that I believe Rhianna has pulled this style off the best of the bunch. The reason that I feel this works well for her is because she already had a edgy look and and while this is the same as the rest of the crew it flows so well with what she already had going on with her hair. I will give her a few points for working it out as well as she has but not as many as I would have given had she continued being the TREND SETTER that we have come to love her for being. The goal here is to create YOURHAIRSTORY and not follow in the pages of those written before yours.
